Hound & Bone Inc. ("Hound & Bone", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use houndandbone.ca or order from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
When you place an order or create an account, we collect the information you give us: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number (if provided), and what you ordered. To pick up an order you provide your name and email. If you sign up for a subscription or marketing emails, we record that consent.
We do not see or store your full payment card number. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, which handles your card details directly under its own security standards. We receive only a confirmation, the card brand, and the last four digits.
When you browse the site we may collect limited technical information — pages visited, general location, device and browser type — through privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity). These run only if you accept analytics in our cookie banner. If you decline, we count visits anonymously with no cookies and no session recordings.
We use your information to process and deliver your orders, manage subscriptions and renewals, provide customer support, send you order and account notifications, and — only with your consent — send marketing emails. We also use aggregate analytics to understand how the shop is used and improve it.
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the store, and only as needed: Stripe (payments), our email provider (order and account notifications), our hosting and database providers, and our analytics providers (when you consent). We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.
We send commercial email only to people who have consented, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional messages — order confirmations, delivery updates, subscription notices — are sent as part of fulfilling your order. To unsubscribe or change your preferences, use the link in any email or contact us at info@houndandbone.ca.
We keep order and account records as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize them.
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or request its deletion, and you may withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email info@houndandbone.ca and we will respond within a reasonable time.
